Chinese companies listed on the Shanghai Composite Index experienced a 1.1% increase, with the index closing at 3,098.64.
FTSE Straits Times Index of Singapore Stocks
Singapore stocks saw a rise as well, with the FTSE Straits Times Index increasing by 0.9% to reach 3,219.58.
KOSPI Composite Index of South Korean Stocks

Australian stocks on the S&P/ASX 200 Benchmark Index also rose, increasing by 0.6% to close at 7,159.80.
Notable Changes in Nikkei 225 Index Constituents
Within the Nikkei 225 Index, semiconductors company SCREEN Holdings saw the largest increase on Monday, with shares rising by 5.8%. Similarly, shares of metalworking machinery firm Amada and semiconductors company Renesas Electronics increased by 5.7% and 4.4% respectively.
Declines in Japanese Department Stores Companies
Department stores company J. Front Retailing experienced the largest decline among Nikkei 225 Index constituents on Monday, with shares weakening by 4.2%. Shares of department stores firms Takashimaya Co Ltd and Isetan Mitsukoshi Hldgs also fell by 3.2% and 3.0% respectively.
Notable Changes in Hang Seng Index Constituents
Among the Hang Seng Index constituents, securities/commodity exchange activities company HK Exchanges & Clearing saw the largest increase on Monday, with shares rising by 3.3%. Shares of computers/consumer electronics firm Lenovo Group and online service providers company Netease also gained, increasing by 3.0% and 2.9% respectively.
Declines in Hong Kong's Stock Market
Shares of gas utilities company ENN Energy Holdings experienced the largest decline in Hong Kong, with shares falling by 5.6% on Monday. Similarly, shares of renewable energy generation firm China Resources Power and real estate services/transactions company New World Development declined by 2.8% each.
