It’s no secret that Taylor Swift has a massive following and sells out concert tickets like hotcakes. But could her devoted fanbase also be fueling a surge in ticket sales for football games?
According to rumors, Swift is currently in a relationship with Jason Kelce, the All-Pro tight end for the Kansas City Chiefs. Over the weekend, she attended the Chiefs' game against the Chicago Bears in Kansas City, Mo.
As a result, tickets to future Chiefs games have become a hot commodity. Fans, affectionately called Swifties, are hoping to catch a glimpse of the pop star at upcoming contests.
The Kansas City Star reported on Tuesday that StubHub, the popular ticket-resale platform, has experienced a nearly three-fold increase in ticket sales and searches for all Chiefs home games for the remainder of the season.
The demand for tickets seems to extend beyond home games as well. The upcoming match between the Chiefs and the New York Jets at MetLife Stadium has also witnessed strong sales on StubHub, according to Town & Country.
Of course, there is no guarantee that Swift will be in attendance for any future football games in New York or elsewhere. However, given that Swift is based in New York City, many speculate that MetLife Stadium would be an easy choice if she decides to watch another game.
Attempts to reach StubHub for further details have been unsuccessful at this time.
As Swift currently takes a break from her wildly successful "Eras" tour until November, fans still have one more opportunity to catch a glimpse of their favorite artist without buying football tickets.
The movie version of Swift’s tour, aptly titled "Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour," is set to be released worldwide on October 13th. Swift recently announced the global release date change, as it was initially scheduled only for the U.S.
So, whether it's attending a football game or watching her tour on the big screen, Swifties have a multitude of options to satisfy their Taylor Swift cravings.
