Top Gainers
Among the constituents of the FTSE 100, Ocado Group PLC experienced the largest increase, with its shares rising by 6.70%. This food retail company saw significant growth in its stock.
Following closely behind were BHP Group Ltd., a general mining firm, and Rightmove PLC, a real estate developers company, with their shares climbing by 2.50% and 2.38% respectively.
Lloyds Banking Group PLC, a major international bank, and Hargreaves Lansdown PLC, an investment advisors company, also secured spots in the top five gainers list, as their stocks increased by 2.06% and 1.65% respectively.
Top Losers
Halma PLC, a precision products company, experienced the largest decline among the FTSE 100 constituents, as its shares dropped by 3.75% on Friday.
Entain PLC, a gambling industries firm, and B&M European Value Retail S.A., a mixed retailing company, also faced a decline in their stocks, with decreases of 3.03% and 1.92% respectively.
BAE Systems PLC, a defense equipment/products company, and ITV PLC, a broadcasting business, secured positions among the top five largest decreases, as their stocks dropped by 1.80% and 1.78% respectively.
Currency and Commodity Updates
The pound showed a slight decline against the dollar, down by 0.33% at $1.2256, and also decreased by 0.31% against the euro to reach €1.1497.
Brent crude saw a modest increase of 0.4%, reaching $93.64, while the yield on the 10-year gilt fell by 5.240 basis points to 4.252%.
